Hello guys, today I'm bringing you guys the Lego photography top pick of the week 2! There are lots of great works I've seen during the week, well, let's get started!
Names and works not listed in order.
Sybill Trelawney and reflected light π by architeclego
architeclego is the top one Lego photographer in my mind, his works are the reason that I want to pick up my camera and starting my Lego photography journey. For me, his works are just perfect, flawless, and who is the best in combining brick building and photo shooting. The latest work from him is just stunning, the cozy atmosphere from his works are fascinating, and not to mention the top skill managing the relationship between light and shadow, I think everybody agrees, right?
renner_lego is a talented Lego photographer from Japan, and his latest work caught my eyes instantly when I first saw it. It's a fun poker game scene with perfect lighting, and I recommend you go take a look of how he created the scene, he set up a minifigures scene with real world objects, and he used artificial light to simulate the fabulous natural light effect. Also, all those cards are custom prints, and I would say if you want to create unique and outstanding works, that's the spirit you should have.
The lighting from this shot is beautiful, irwanlast created a great scene with batman running in a narrow space. From this shot, you can tell the photographer handled the lighting sophisticatedly, you can tell that he knows how to use lighting to create visual attraction. Also, I like the color tone on his works as well, you can also check out another post from him for how to create a cinematic dark ambience, very useful!
030079ar is a old friend from IG, and he's focusing on star wars theme, and very good at creating shots of epical battle scenes, as you can see here, you can really feel the tension and motion in the shot, and the laser lighting effect is his signature element, watching his works just like watching a movie, very exicting!
I really like this shot from minifigs_james, he's very good at managing the relationship between minifigures and background. His works are always well focused, take this one as example, the background is spectacular, the warm bokeh combined perfectly with the cold background, also the aperture shapes are magical. He did lots of outdoor shooting, that's something I really like, imaging yourself bringing Lego out for shooting every weekend, what a fun and relax time!
Hungry huh? Let's take a look at caydoncay's funny scene here, his works are very clean and bright, and I love the color tone so much, and his story telling skill is very good as well. Like this one, it reminds me Tom and Jerry, and the natural light is just beautiful, it's a photo that gives you smile on your face, I think that's the purpose why lots of us first started taking Lego photos, isn't it?
"When one chooses to walk the way of the mandalore, you are both hunter and prey” by legotrooper_89Lego
Star Wars is extremely popular in the Lego community, and legotrooper_89's Star Wars series are outstanding. He is really good at posing the Lego minifigures, as some of you may know, posing minifigures are always tricky, as we know minifigures got limitations, and some times you will need to get creative to achieve the pose to suit your scene. Like this one, the lighting location design is brilliant, and the cool posing really brings the photo to another level.
This is a epic shot, lego_starwars_photo set up a large scale diorama in this one, some people may thinks the clouds and mountains are photoshop background, but if you take a look at his before/ after comparison, then you will be amazed the amount of efforts and passion he puts into his work. You guys can check out his other photos, the atmosphere in every one of them are phenomenal, or you can say, pure of art.
'All i am surrounded by is fear, ....and dead men....' by a.sith.load.of.lego
Another brilliant Lego star photographer here! I know about the works of Thomas for very long time, in my Lego photography journey, he is one of the most inspired photographers that I know of. He's works are so realistic, sometimes you may forget that you are watching Lego/ toy photos. Forget about the scale, is this one like an actual set photo from the movies? And also, smoke really brings excellent vibes to your photos, and he is a true master of creating and controlling smoke in his works.
A night walk in the canopy! Yea, thats a real fire flame! π by benedek.lampert
It's always joyful watching the works from benedek.lampert, and I can say that his works are true arts, he's like a magician of Lego/ toy photography. For this one, he used matches to create real fire! In my view, you can achieve various effects in different ways, and you will need to really push the boundary to get creative in your works, and I think benedek.lampert is one of those photographer. Besides of that, the lighting in this shot is stunning as well, that's a cozy tree house makes you want to become a minifigure and living in it.
I hope you guys enjoy all the featured photo for this week, feel free to let me know your thoughts, and if you haven't followed these talented photographers, you know what to do now π. See you guys next week!
